Ramp Spotting

Ramp Spotting is a photo series of everyday access that I created to explore the unique and often overlooked world of home ramp designs. Through this series, I photograph rare and customized ramps, each reflecting the resilience, creativity, and individuality of the people who built them. These structures tell powerful stories of how accessibility meets personal style and functionality in everyday spaces.

Ramp Spotting celebrates the innovation of inclusive home design while raising awareness about the importance of accessibility in creating spaces that truly work for everyone.

Home Ramps Wanted!

This project has been a long time in the making, inspired by the rarity of the subject and my own limits in exploring physical spaces. What began as a personal collection has evolved into a larger exploration of how disabled people and their communities modify spaces to create access where it is often overlooked. To expand this series, I will be crowdsourcing contributions, inviting others to share images of home ramps from their own surroundings. Through this collective effort, the project aims to highlight both the necessity and creativity of everyday access solutions.

Have you spotted a unique or creative home ramp design? Share it with me and include the location (city and state/province/country) by clicking the button below or emailing me at hello@kaetran.com.

Together, let’s celebrate accessibility, one ramp at a time. Thank you for helping shine a light on the beauty of inclusion.
